Here we go again!
We are praising God that he has chosen to bless us with another child! My two sweet babies will be only 19 months apart. I think Samuel is ready for a sibling to play with. He is a Very active child and I think will take well to a new addition.
This time around I feel WAY more calm about the situation. I still journal and write down everything, but I just feel like I know what I am doing. It still does not really feel real. I am 5 weeks tomorrow and I feel good. I am really tired but I think that is because my son has not been sleeping well at night lately, so I am up A LOT!
My biggest thrill is being prepared for another baby physically and spiritually. I was in really good shape when I got pregnant with Samuel. And all my baby weight came off very quickly and I am actually in better shape now then before Sam. (yay!) So I feel like I can have an even better pregnancy than before. I am going to keep my weight lifting up, my 3 mile daily walks and lots of good eating! It is amazing the peace you get when you place everything in the hands of God. My husband and I chose to leave our fertility in God's loving hands. We know that he opens and closes the womb and so we have never "prevented"children. I think it makes life exciting just having fun in your marriage without worrying about prevention. I like the element of surprise when God decides the time is right to bless our family again. I was at peace when I knew that we could get pregnant again I was excited to see when it would happen. We did not get pregnant with my first child for 9 months after we got married. But this time around it was a little faster.
I am one of those weird people that LOVES being pregnant. I feel good when I am pregnant and I actually feel beautiful knowing that I am carrying a little life inside me. I like to view pregnancy as though you are training for a race...but in this case, labor! I was excited about labor the first time and now I am even more excited. There is so much you can do to make your labor easier and faster (I will not go as far to say pain-less, unfortunately). My last labor was 8 hours long and then 1.5 hours of pushing. So I am hoping to cut that time in half if possible. I just plan on being more active and really keeping up the weight training all the way through my pregnancy. Last time I stopped, and just kept up the walking and some lighter exercises. So we will see if it works!
My biggest problem last time was insomnia O_O. I am hoping that does not happen again. I am already SO tired all the time from chasing an 11 month old around who is teething and trying to wean and not sleeping at night! So that is my main concern is getting my sleep. I start to get a little crazy after a few weeks of no sleep. Although I heard Tart Cherry Juice is supposed to really help so I might try that if I run into this problem again.
I am going to use the Birth Center again as I really did love the Midwives there last time! I just love their whole philosophy on birth and labor. They leave you in control of your labor which is lovely (unless need be, of course).
We are just very excited and can't wait to hear the heartbeat and see our little one for the first time in a few weeks! All glory to God for the sweet miracle of life!

Congratulations!! So excited for you all :)
ReplyDeleteYou might check into Magnesium Cream to help with sleep. I found a recipe online that was easy to make. Quite a few in our family have used it to sleep better ~ we just put a small amount on the bottoms of our feet before going to bed. According to my research, your body will only absorb what it needs if used as a cream (versus taking internally).

Thank you so much for that tidbit! I will certainly check that out and give it a try! :) That's very helpful!
